Provided below is the garbage collection schedule for both residential and Industrial (Business Houses etc)

RESIDENTIAL

Tuesday – Walgett, and Gingie and Namoi Reserves
Wednesday – Lightning Ridge and Cumborah
Thursday – Collarenerbi, Walli Mission, Pokataroo, Merrywinebone, Rowena, and Burren Junction
Friday – Carinda

INDUSTRIAL

Tuesday – Walgett
Wednesday – Lightning Ridge and Cumborah
Thursday – Collarenerbi, Rowena, and Burren Junction
Friday – Walgett and Carinda

RECYCLING SERVICES

Recycle

Waste Oil Recycling
Walgett Shire Council now offers a waste oil recycling service located at Walgett and Lightning Ridge Landfills. The service is provided free to landfill users.

This project was funded through a Transitional Assistance Grant by the Product Stewardship for Oil Programme of the Department of the Environment and Water Resources.

Waste Oil Recycling units can accept the following types of oils:

  • engine oils
  • lubricants
  • petroleum based oils

The recycling units will not accept:

  • cooking oils
  • vegetable oils
