Weather causes delay to pool openings

Walgett Shire Council regrets to advise that the pool opening dates for the 2024 season have been reassessed due to water clarity issues.
The recent rain and predicted storms have created some issues with silt that are being rectified as quickly as possible.
Please see the latest updates below:
Walgett – The pool will be assessed Monday morning to firm up an opening date.
At this stage it will likely be Friday 25th October.
Collarenebri – Is currently on schedule to open Friday 25th.
Burren Junction – Following recent rain, the water clarity will be treated over the weekend and will be assessed on Monday with the hope to open on Friday 25th.
Carinda –A new chlorination pump is being installed. Keys and forms will be available from the service station from Monday with an aim for Friday, 25th opening.
