Update on Collarenebri and Walgett Bore Bath
Published on 17 April 2025
Walgett Shire Council wishes to provide the community with an update regarding the status of the Collarenebri and Walgett Bore Bath facilities.
Collarenebri Bore Bath
Council acknowledges the community’s strong interest in the reopening of the Collarenebri Bore Bath. Unfortunately, the facility remains closed pending necessary maintenance and potential upgrades. At present, Council is awaiting detailed engineering assessments to determine the full scope of works required.
Until these assessments are finalised, Council is unable to confirm a commencement date for repairs or a reopening timeline. We understand the significance of this facility to the community and assure residents that the matter is receiving due attention. Council is committed to ensuring that any repairs undertaken will prioritise the safety, functionality, and long-term viability of the Bore Bath.
Walgett Bore Bath
The Walgett Bore Bath also remains closed due to required pipework repairs. Council is in the process of obtaining quotes and continues to consult with engineering experts to ensure the repair works are undertaken to appropriate standards.
As with Collarenebri, a confirmed timeline for the completion of works and reopening is not currently available. Further updates will be provided as soon as additional information becomes available from contractors and consultants.
Council appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as we work to restore these important community assets. Our priority remains delivering safe, accessible, and sustainable facilities for all residents and visitors.
