Bright ideas lighting the way to our future.
Submissions for Council’s Long-term community strategic plan closed on October 20, but there will be more opportunities for community input in coming months.
General Manager Megan Dixon said that with over 500 submissions received, she is confident that the community will be pleased to see their ideas reflected in the draft plan.
“There is still quite a long process before the Community Strategic Plan (CSP) will be finalised,” Ms Dixon said.
“Once all the submissions have been gathered into themes, the draft CSP will be prepared and will go before Council for the purpose of placing the draft document on Public Exhibition for a period of 28 days, as per legislation,” Ms Dixon said.
“During this time, we will encourage the community to view the plan and make submissions. We will have hardcopies in all the villages, and it will also be available to view online,”
“The engagement team will re-visit each location across the shire during the exhibition period to workshop what is in the plan and how your ideas were incorporated.” Ms Dixon said.
“Once the exhibition period closes, all submissions will be considered before the final draft goes before Council to be adopted.”
The CSP is the highest-level Plan that Council will develop based on community priorities and will determine the Four Year Delivery Plan, Annual Operational Plan and Budget and Resourcing Strategy.
