Walgett Pool Update 20th November 2023

As of last Friday, the Walgett Shire Council has issued Letters of Acceptance (LOA) for three contracts related to the remediation of Walgett Memorial Swimming Pool. These contracts include works related to chemical dosing, repair of expansion joints and sand filter refurbishment.
General Manager, Megan Dixon said “The remediation work is on track and currently scheduled for completion on 18th December 2023, barring any unforeseen delays or unfavourable weather conditions. We are optimistic about reopening before Christmas”.
All contractors are actively in the process of ordering necessary equipment and materials. We anticipate onsite work will commence around 4th December 2023.
